Terms of service

Last updated

These terms are the agreement between you and Look20 (“we”, “us”) for the Look20 apps, browser extension, website and related services (together, “Look20”). Please read them. They include a disclaimer, limits on our liability and how disputes are handled.

1. Accepting these terms

By creating an account or using Look20, you agree to these terms, our privacy policy and our refund policy, which form part of them. If you do not agree, do not use Look20. If you use Look20 for an organisation, you confirm you may accept these terms for it.

2. Who can use Look20

You must be at least 13 years old, or 16 where the law where you live requires that age to use online services without a parent’s consent. In India, if you are under 18 you may use Look20 only with the verifiable consent of a parent or lawful guardian, who accepts these terms for you. You must not be barred from using Look20 under any applicable law.

3. Your account

4. What Look20 does

Look20 reminds you to take short eye breaks following the 20-20-20 rule and keeps one schedule across the devices you sign in on. Features differ by platform and plan. We may add, change or remove features over time. If we remove a core Plus feature you have paid for, we will tell you in advance and you may cancel.

5. Not medical advice

Look20 is a wellness and productivity reminder. It is not a medical device and it does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or condition. Information in Look20 is general and is not a substitute for professional advice. If you have eye pain, persistent dryness, headaches, blurred or double vision, or any change in your vision, see an eye-care professional. Never delay seeking advice because of something in Look20.

6. Availability and reminders

We work to keep Look20 running well, but we do not guarantee that it will be available at all times or that every reminder will arrive on time. Reminders can be delayed, missed or repeated because of things outside our control, including operating-system restrictions such as battery optimisation, focus or do-not-disturb modes and background limits, notification permissions you have turned off, a device that is off, asleep or offline, a browser or app that is not running, and network or provider outages. Do not rely on Look20 for anything where a late or missed reminder could cause harm or loss, such as taking medication, safety-critical work, driving or operating machinery.

7. Free plan, Plus and trials

Plans

Look20 is free on one device. Look20 Plus adds unlimited synced devices, per-device control and full break history, as described on the pricing page at the time you buy.

Free trial

You can try Plus free for 14 days without payment details. When the trial ends, your account returns to the free plan unless you buy Plus. Trials are one per person. We may change or end trial offers at any time.

Subscriptions and automatic renewal

Monthly and yearly plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period, at the price then in effect, and are charged to your payment method until you cancel.

Cancelling

You can cancel at any time. You keep Plus until the end of the period you have paid for, and you will not be charged again. Purchases made on the web can be cancelled through the link in your receipt or by emailing us. App Store and Google Play subscriptions are cancelled in your store account’s subscription settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

Price changes

We may change prices. For an existing subscription, we will tell you at least 30 days before a new price applies to your next renewal, so you can cancel first if you wish. For App Store and Google Play subscriptions, the store’s price-change process also applies.

Founding lifetime

Founding lifetime is a one-time payment, offered for a limited time: to the first 1,000 buyers or for 90 days after launch, whichever ends first. “Lifetime” means the life of the Look20 product, for as long as we operate it, and covers the Plus features available at the time of purchase. It is not a perpetual right, does not include separate products or separately priced features we may offer later, and cannot be transferred. If we ever stop operating Look20, we will give reasonable notice where we can.

Taxes and refunds

Prices may not include taxes, which are calculated at checkout. Refunds are covered by our refund policy.

8. Purchases on the web

Purchases on the web are processed by Dodo Payments, which acts as merchant of record and reseller. Dodo Payments takes your payment, handles billing, invoices and sales taxes, and its terms apply to the payment. We provide Look20 Plus to you.

9. Purchases in the App Store and Google Play

Purchases in the iPhone and Android apps are made through Apple’s App Store or Google Play and are governed by their terms, including the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions and the Google Play Terms of Service. Billing, renewals, cancellations and refunds for those purchases are handled by Apple or Google.

If you got Look20 from the App Store, you and we also agree that:

10. Acceptable use

When you use Look20, you must not:

11. Your content and custom sounds

You may add your own sound to use as a chime. By doing so, you confirm that you own it or have the rights to use it this way. Your sound stays on your device; we do not receive, store or review it, and you are responsible for it. You keep ownership of anything you give us, such as device labels. You give us a limited licence to store and process it only to provide Look20.

12. Our intellectual property

Look20, including its software, design, artwork, text, name and logo, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by law. Subject to these terms, we give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use Look20 for your personal use or your own internal business use. Some components are provided under open-source licences, and some illustrations and sounds are by Kenney under CC0; those licences apply to those components. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without any obligation to you.

13. Suspension and termination

You can stop using Look20 at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly breach these terms, if the law requires it, or if it is needed to protect other users or Look20. Where reasonable, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem. If we end your access to a paid plan without you having breached these terms, we will refund the unused part of what you prepaid. Sections that by their nature should continue after termination, including those on disclaimers, liability, indemnity and disputes, continue.

14. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent the law allows, Look20 is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. Some places do not allow these exclusions, so some of them may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms affects consumer rights that cannot be waived or limited by contract.

15. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows:

These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

16. Indemnity

To the extent the law allows, you agree to defend and indemnify us against claims, losses and costs, including reasonable legal fees, brought by third parties and arising from your breach of these terms, your misuse of Look20, your violation of any law, or content you use with Look20, such as a sound you do not have the rights to.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Look20 changes or the law requires. If a change is significant, we will tell you by email or in the app at least 14 days before it takes effect, unless the change is required sooner by law or to address a security risk. If you keep using Look20 after a change takes effect, you accept the new terms. If you do not agree, stop using Look20 and cancel any subscription.

18. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India, with exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in India. Before starting any formal proceedings, please email us at support@look20.com with a description of the problem and what you would like us to do. We will try in good faith to resolve it within 30 days, and you agree to do the same. If you live in a country whose consumer laws give you the right to bring a claim in your local courts or under your local law, nothing in these terms takes that right away.
